FAQ Awning BX

An awning is a secondary roof-like covering attached to the exterior wall of a building. It provides shade and shelters doorways, windows, and patios from the sun and rain.

Our awnings frames are made with powder coated T6 6061 aluminum blending strength, longevity, and styling. We also use premium Sunbrella® fabric which is durable, easy to clean, and sun resistant to keep your awning looking new for years.

The awning's projection is how far it extends out from the wall once fully open. A projection of 8 feet means that when it's fully extended, the outer edge sits approximately 8 feet away from the wall.

Our awnings are motorized, so opening and closing is as easy as pressing a button. Each unit also includes a manual override, so you can still operate the awning by hand if there's ever a power outage or other emergency.

Our awnings come standard with extensive warranties. The frame is under warranty for 10 years, the fabric also 10 years, and 5 years on the motor & electronics. 

When picking an operator side you are choosing where the manual override is (left or right side). So be mindful of where you would want the manual override to be on your awning once it is installed. You are also choosing which side the cable for the motor will come out of the awning.

Example: If you have two awnings next to each other you may want to option the first awning with the operator side on the right and the other awning on the left. This allows the awnings to be wired side by side at one outlet rather than possibly needing to install two separate outlets.
